Nokia 15th Star Screen Awards 2009 were announced and it was Jodhaa Akbar, which swept most of the popular awards. But the award ceremony had one major surprise - Akshay Kumar refused to take “Nokia Popular Viewers’ Choice awards” and dedicated the award to Aamir Khan for his role in Ghajini. This left everyone puzzled!
When Akshay Kumar’s name was announced for Nokia Popular Viewers’ Choice awards, he went to the stage and said that he has seen Ghajini and believe Aamir Khan deserves more than he does. He left the stage without accepting the award. In a entertainment Channel, Akshay further said he has never received any award in past 20 years of his career in the Bollywood. Further he received his first award during his 1st year in Television.
Now was that anger (over the years) or Aamir’s superb performance in Ghajini, we do not know, but yes Akshay did get a big applaud for his act.
